  LOCAL ATTRACTIONS: Tomoka State Park, Ormond Loop & Trail, The Casements.

  HISTORY: Ormond Beach was once home to the Timucuan Indians. The city is named for James Ormond I, an Anglo-Irish-Scotch sea captain commissioned by King Ferdinand VII of Spain to bring Franciscan settlers to this part of Florida. After the Civil War, Ormond became a winter haven for wealthy northerners.

  DIRECTIONS: I-95 Exit 268 (Rte 40) Granada Blvd; go East and cross US-1 to Beach St.. Turn Right on South Beach Street. Park on Left side at the Granada Pier.

You must drive to the Walk Start/Finish which begins at Central Park.

Exit Pier Parking and turn right. Go immediately to the left turn lane, turning left onto Granada Ave, (SR 40). Drive approx. 8/10th of a mile to Orchard St, which is at the 3rd stop light. Turn left onto Orchard St. There is an Arby's on the left of Orchard and a Wachovia Bank on the right. Continue south on Orchard approximately 1/2 mile to Hammock Lane. Turn right on Hammock Lane. Central Park sign is at the intersection. Drive west on Hammock Lane. Pass the 3 way stop sign. Entrance to Central Park is on the right. There is water and rest rooms at the start.
