  TIMES: Open year 'round. Sunday 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Closed on Mondays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day. Site Admission: $2.50 per person

  TRAIL DESCRIPTION:  Trail is 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) in length and is rated 1+. It is made-up of a wooded trail, a long
live oak avenue, and dirt trails. A beautiful and historical walk. Strollers and wheelchairs may have difficulty on dirt roads.

  HISTORY: Situated on a forested peninsula surrounded by coastal marshes, Wormsloe Plantation was established in 1737 by Noble Jones one of the first British colonists in the area. The site includes a plantation house built by Jones' grandson in 1828, a detached library, the ruins of a fortified house, a mile-long drive bordered by large oaks, and Confederate earthworks. Wormsloe was Noble Jones' country estate where he experimented with his grand passion-horticulture. He protected the cypress and oak forests of his property and never cultivated the land.

  DIRECTIONS:  From I-95:
From I-95: Take exit 94 (Highway 204/Abercorn St). Drive east for approx 10.4 miles to Montgomery Crossroads. Turn right onto Montgomery Crossroads for 3 miles to Skidaway Rd. Bear right onto Skidaway Rd. It is less than 1 mile to Wormsloe Historic Site Gate (it will be on your right). Turn right into gate and drive straight ahead approx 1 and 1/2 miles to parking lot. Volkssport Box is at the Gift Shop.

  AWARDS and FEES:  “A” AWARD (Pertains to all Events) The“A” Award (includes IVV credit) is an enamel hat pin depictinga ship “The SAVANNAH”, or a similar patch. You are eligible to purchase either award at ANY of the Events. You need to complete only one of the Events to purchase the Award. The Awards are $4 each. “B” Awards (includes IVV credit) may be purchased at $1. Credit & Non-Credit Only is $3 for each walker. Events are held rain or shine.

  WAIVERS: All Participants must sign waiver in log book each time event is repeated.
