  START/FINISH:  The Savannah History Museum And Visitors Center, 303 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Savannah, GA

  TIMES: Daily 8:30AM - 4PM. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day Parking Fees Apply

  TRAIL DESCRIPTION:  Walk Rated 1+ Moderately easy. Walk is thru the Historic District. All sidewalks shaded with live oak trees. Course is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers, but will have difficulty with cobblestones. Rest Rooms at Visitor Center.

    HISTORY:  Savannah, the end of the Georgia line of march, was occupied after the reduction of Fort McAllister, in time for Sherman to offer the city to Lincoln as a Christmas gift. There is a Confederate Memorial, a bronze figure of a Confederate soldier, in Forsyth Park (Gaston Street to Park Avenue).

  DIRECTIONS:  From north or south take I-95 to I-16 Exit 99. Drive east. At the end of I-16 (approx 10 miles) turn Left at first traffic signal (Liberty Street). Proceed one block to Martin Luther King Blvd. Turn Right on “MLK” and make an immediate LEFT into the Visitors’ Information Center parking lot.

  AWARDS and FEES:  “A” AWARD. The Award (includes IVV credit) is an enamel hat pin depicting a ship “The SAVANNAH”, or a similar patch. The Award is $4. Credit & Non-Credit Only is $3 for each walker. Events are held rain or shine.

 WAIVERS: All Participants must sign waiver in log book each time event is repeated.
